FULLY EDITED & RETOUCHED IMAGES VS. LIGHTLY EDITED IMAGES

Signature Sessions include Fully Edited and Retouched Images and Lite Sessions include lightly edited images.

A little back story as to why I offer two different types of sessions. From 2015-2019, I only offered sessions that came with fully edited and retouched images and I only worked with Seniors. The majority of Seniors to this day still book my Signature Sessions, but I always had requests for family photography and most families get pictures done every year and $500+ annually was out of budget for most of the families that were contacting me. I was looking at the images people were getting and I could tell they were my version of lightly edited images. So, I thought I would do what I could to accommodate budgets in the $200-$350 price range and that's when I figured offering lightly edited sessions would be the answer. While 90% of my senior clientele book Signature Sessions, 90% of my families book lightly edited sessions.

You may be wondering what my version of a lightly edited image is. Lightly edited for me, are images that receive basic edits to include adjustments to white balance, exposure, and contrast. And anything else that I can do to make the image stand out that can be applied to the entire image and isn’t image specific. Edits done on a lightly edited image are applied to the entire image vs a fully edited image that receives more detailed edits. A fully edited and retouched image goes through the same process as a lightly edited image, but then I take it into photoshop where I can do image specific detailed edits and skin retouching. Facial Retouching includes blemish removal, skin tone correction if needed, under eye circle reduction or lightening, slight eye brightening, dedicated slight facial smoothening, and facial contouring. Objects that should not be in the background get removed, overall image enhancement and sharpening. Plus, the overall image is edited to my idea of perfection.

A lightly edited session can take 2-4 hours to edit and a Fully Edited session can take 6-10 additional hours to edit.

When deciding which type of session is best for you, take in consideration your desired end product and budget. There is no right or wrong, it is up to you to choose what you like best.
